The workbook contains a variety of tasks connected to the book Miracle on the Mountain by Kavita Desai.
It is designed to accompany the story chapter by chapter and deepen related themes through both individual and group work. Tasks include reading, comprehension, creative writing, art and crafts, grammar, oral work, and a cooking challenge. It also provides background information and an extra story.
Vocabulary has been drawn from each chapter of Miracle on the Mountain and summarised as expressions which can be used and adapted for independent writing and speaking. A grammar overview supports the grammar covered in the workbook.
“Miracle on the Mountain” is a traditional Akbar and Birbal tale that has been expanded and retold from a different—female—perspective. The story is set during the Mughal Empire and captures elements of Indian culture and customs in words and pictures that are still relevant today.
