Bärbel Kahn, born in 1955, studied civil engineering in the former GDR. From 1990, she completed a two-year training course as a Waldorf class teacher in Berlin-Kreuzberg. She subsequently began working at the Free Waldorf School in Innsbruck.
A particular focus of her work has always been children with behavioural difficulties and learning challenges. She went on to train as a learning therapist and ran her own practice in Hanover for over 20 years. In addition, she gave lectures and seminars on dyslexia and dyscalculia, and published articles in the journals Erziehungskunst and Medizinisch-Pädagogische Konferenz.
Since 2025, she has been living in Tyrol, where she devotes herself to writing.
